Today I saw this ad...

Herman has lost his rabbit Silver, who escaped on Hallowe'en, and there is a reward for anybody who finds him.

The sadest piece of news I've come over in weeks. Hope they get together again.

Have you seen Silver?

He's gray-brown and is wearing a purple leash...

Yes, homework... this is the main reason for me not updating this blog so much lately.
I've got quite a bit of literature to digest within the two next weeks! As you can see, I am planning to conquer the world very soon, as soon as I finish reading Women in Charge - Policing, gender and leadership and The Warrior Queens!!

Kultur på Campus...
Here in Umeå, the University organises quite a few cultural events if you know where to look for the information. So today during lunch break there was a concert in the hall, in the teaching building. There is a grand piano there, and students go and play quite often I was told.

Anyway, this was the first time I got to see Sofia Jannok sing live.
Sofia is a young singer from Gällivare,born 15 September 1982. Most of her songs are in Sámi, and her singing is based on the traditional yoiking while flirting with other musical styles, especially jazz.
A powerful, moving voice...

Here is a video clip from a previous album. This is definitely pop music, but still illustrates what joik is... and the pictures are beautiful. I think some of it is filmed in the ice hotel in Kiruna...

Short night, up at 7:00 to prepare today's seminar about strategy in practice, seminar at 1:00 followed by swimming session, jacuzzi and sauna session at IKSU... ain't that a perfect way to end the week?

Being in Sweden for a year is not all about vacation, road trips, music and pretty lakes... after all I AM here for my master in management! So I thought I'd drop a few photos of Umeå University's campus...
(Today was my first written exam, so might as well publish a studious post!)

Busy day today... after fetching Mister A the holiday maker at the airport at 09:20, some lunch, rest, etc... we set sails towards the University campus to get the key to my room.
